31 days. 100 women. One goal of raising $25,000. Wahine Build recruits and empowers women to come together to build homes and make a tangible impact on our local community.
Today, the world looks different. It’s wonderful to see more women in construction, and it’s incredible to see what we can accomplish when we work together.
On March 4, 2022, the Island Living Homes team rolled up their sleeves and took part in the Wahine Build with Honolulu Habitat for Humanity. “Honolulu Habitat for Humanity works with the community to offer families strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.” United with other women, we spent the day framing and raising walls for the Gramberg home. Keeping with the Island Living Homes motto of “Live Happy, Do Good”, this was our way of “Doing Good” in our community in an effort to help others “Live Happy”.
Honolulu Habitat for Humanity “brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope”. Together we can do our part in building safe, affordable homes for the hardworking families in our community. Habitat is always looking for volunteers, all year long! You can learn more about the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity Wahine Build by visiting their webpage.
We believe that everyone deserves a decent place to live. We believe that when we all work together, incredible things happen. For this reason we INVITE YOU to help support this project, by visiting our fundraising page to make a donation.
Uncle Wili | Last month, we began constructing his home in Waimanalo.
These past 21 days I will be forever grateful to my wife Cheryl – loving, kind and strong. The best medicine is her honest listening. If I was to pass away last week, I will admit I would feel sadness at leaving life so soon, but I would mostly feel gratitude for the many good things and people in my life. Your family – your ohana – is everything.
Mahalo for sharing your love, aloha and precious time with our ohana. Aloha ke akua, God bless you always.
Sincerely, Uncle Wili
Thank you for helping us to Build Aloha!
